Certificate Programs
Sample Certificate Programs
Certificate programs provide focused training in specialized areas of
technology sequences of two or more courses comprise these programs,
which can be of value to satisfy current job skills requirements and
professional governmental certification requirements. Where needed,
Texas A&M University can provide CEU (Continuing Education Unit)
certifications for these programs. This appendix suggests example
certificate programs, but others can be readily developed when clients
request other alternatives. You DO NOT need to apply to the university
to gain a certificate.
IF YOU WISH TO TAKE COURSES FOR COLLEGE CREDIT PLEASE
TAKE A LOOK AT OUR DEGREE PROGRAMS. THESE COURSES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR
COLLEGE CREDIT. YOU MUST APPLY TO THE UNIVERSITY AND BE ACCEPTED AS
DEGREE SEEKING TO GET CREDIT!

Petroleum Engineering Principles
and Practices
This Certificate is for those who have backgrounds in math,
physical science, and/or other engineering disciplines who have an interest
in the petroleum industry.
PETE 661 - Drilling Engineering
PETE 662 - Production Engineering
PETE 663 - Formation Evaluation and Reservoir Performance
PETE 664 - Petroleum Project Evaluation and Management
PETE 665 - Reservoir Engineering
Reserves and Evaluation
Two courses leading to a certificate in reserves and evaluation
will be offered. The first course will focus on deterministic reserves
estimation methods and cash-flow analysis techniques appropriate to
evaluate projected revenue streams. The second course will discuss probabilistic
reserves estimation methods and economic analysis techniques that consider
risk and uncertainty in detail. Students will have access to commercial
software for computations.
