ORIENTATION
Once admitted you will need to set up your NetID

- All official University email is sent to your TAMU
Email account and is accessed using your NetID. Be aware that
even when you have configured your NetID/TAMU account to forward your
email to another address, some of the University email is not automatically
forwarded to you. Therefore, it is imperative that you check your
University Neo email account frequently.

- All PETE DL students must have a PETE email account (see above).
- If you have problems go to myrecord.tamu.edu
and check for blocks. Please check this site often and go through
all the information.

How to access your course materials

- PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO LATE SUBMITTAL OF MATERIALS
BY PROFESSORS WE, GENERALLY, WILL NOT HAVE THE INFORMATION POSTED
UNTIL THE BEGINNING OF THE SECOND WEEK OF THE SEMESTER
- All course materials are accessible through the course website
- The course websites are located within Blackboard
Vista - You must use your NEO login and password (see above) to
access Vista
- You will not gain access to the course website and materials until
you have been cleared by the University
- The course website contains a calendar, links to the course syllabus,
access to synchronous communication, “Chat,” and asynchronous communication,
“Discussion Board(s)”
- The course is calendar driven, and the calendar inside the course
website contains
- class lecture notes
- class videos
- homework files
- readings
- quizzes and exams
- etc.

- Consult your graduate committee (you must have your committee formed
by the end of your 1st semester)
- If you are a G6, graduate non-degree seeking student, complete the
University and departmental requirements for admission as a G7, graduate
degree seeking student
- This must be completed by the time you have completed 9 SCH of
work

International Student resources

- All international students on visas in the US must complete the
Student Information
Sheet, and submit it to International Student Services; go to
http://international.tamu.edu/iss/people/newstudents.asp
.
- You must also provide a letter from the Human Resource Department
within your company that states:
- that you are a full-time employee;
- that your company has the required health insurance coverage;
- an insurance validity date.
