- Why do distance courses cost more than on-campus courses? Click here
- We go to significant effort to provide a learning experience that is as much as possible like the on-campus experience. That requires a significant investment in hardware and in the distance learning team that supports both the faculty and students. Please see our link to the Distance Learning Team Contact page.
- What should I include in my essay on the application? Click here
- We use the essay to get to know you, so you’ll want to tell us a little about yourself, why you are interested in our program, and what you hope to get out of it. For more information, please see our Admission link at the top.
- Who can write the letters of recommendation for my application? Click here
- Your letters of recommendation should assure us that you are ready for graduate study. If you have graduated recently from a previous degree program, you should request letters from former faculty. If you have been out of school for several years, you can request letters from your job supervisor, project collaborators, or others who are aware of your ability to undertake a complex task and see it to completion.

PETE 692 Professional Study (Project)
In addition to coursework, the student is also required to complete a topical report on a particular aspect of a process, technique, or study. This report is supervised by an advisory committee and chair.
* All MEng students are required to complete an engineering report during the last semester before graduation. The PETE 692 Professional Study (Project) course provides supervision and advising to students as they prepare this paper. We recommend registration at least one semester before the paper will be due to allow students the opportunity to work closely with the professor in planning, organizing, drafting, and completing the paper.
Below are some papers that will help guide you in the process:
