Earn Advanced Degrees, Certificates, or Professional Education Units in Petroleum Engineering Online, Anywhere in the World

In our distance learning program, you can earn complete graduate degrees in petroleum engineering from anywhere in the world or continuing education units (CEUs), certificates that show you have specialized training in almost any phase of the industry.

We want you to feel as if you are a part of our on-campus program, so we will provide you all the materials you need including the class lectures that others are getting on campus in College Station but we'll also provide real people who can answer your questions and solve your problems with in 24 hours of the time you ask.

Our system captures the lectures in College Station and provides all of the course materials you'll need to keep on track with assignments, exams, and projects whichever the professor decides to use. Most of our faculty will encourage class participation in online discussion so you'll have opportunities to share ideas with your classmates around the world. And if you have a problem, our distance learning support team is here to help.

What does this program do?

Our program is designed to allow participants to take exactly the courses they want and need. If you want to earn an advanced degree, you can complete the entire program online. Our approach provides a core body of knowledge of advanced topics in petroleum engineering. If you want to brush up your skills or complete your CEUs in a single area, you can take a single course; if you want a certificate to show that you have gained expertise in a given area, you can take a sequence of courses.

Upon completion of the degree, students will be able to perform advanced-level tasks in drilling, production, reservoir engineering, formation evaluation, and project evaluation and economics. For example, horizontal and multilateral drilling techniques, advanced analysis of production and well test data, prediction of long-term reservoir performance, and advanced tasks in formation evaluation--including geostatistics, non-parametric optimization, etc.

When you finish our certificate program, you will be prepared for leadership positions in drilling, reservoir, production engineering, or formation evaluation. With our degree, you will have the broad expertise to prepare you for even more comprehensive leadership positions.
