Dr. Beck joined the faculty at Texas A&M in the fall of 2009. He has worked in the oil and gas industry for over 25 years, including positions as a drilling engineer and on site drilling supervisor. He has also held management positions with a large drilling contractor and a small exploration and production company. Throughout his career Dr. Beck has been actively involved in well and completions design and operations supervision, with direct input in the design and supervision of over 75 horizontal and extended reach wells, and over 50 HTHP wells. Dr. Beck was also an Assistant Professor at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, and served as a Distinguished Lecturer for SPE in 1995-96.
