Welcome to the Distance Learning Program of the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering. In our program, you can earn advanced degrees, certificates, or professional education units in petroleum engineering online, anywhere in the world.
Our program has been delivering the MEng degree online since 1995, so we have plenty of experience to help you complete your degree successfully and, if you choose, wear the Aggie ring proudly.

You will earn exactly the same degree you would earn if you studied on our campus in College Station, Texas. The standards for admission, course work, and graduation are the same, and your diploma will be the same as those for students who come to campus to study. You are welcome to come to campus to walk through the graduation line with your classmates, too.

Just like our on-campus program, we will provide you:

• Live lectures to view on-line with opportunities for on-line class participation
• Class lectures and course materials
• Distance Learning support team to answer questions and help resolve any problems

1. If you want to earn an advanced degree, you can complete the entire program online. Our approach provides a core body of knowledge of advanced topics in petroleum engineering. Upon completion of the degree, students will be able to perform advanced-level tasks in drilling, production, reservoir engineering, formation evaluation, and project evaluation and economics.
2. If you want a certificate to show that you have gained expertise in a given area, you can take a sequence of courses. When you finish our certificate program, you will be prepared for leadership positions in drilling, reservoir, production engineering, or formation evaluation. With our degree, you will have the broad expertise to prepare you for even more comprehensive leadership positions.
3. If you want to brush up your skills or complete your CEU’s in a single area, you can take a single course.
