Gregory A. Bird is president and owner of Jetta Operating Company, Inc. He co-founded the company as Jetta Production Company, Inc. in December, 1991.
Prior to founding Jetta, Greg worked for Hunt Energy Corporation and Cawley, Gillespie & Associates in areas of reservoir engineering, reservoir management and economic analysis. He became a partner with CG&A in January, 1989.
Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in 1982 with a B.S. degree in petroleum engineering, Greg was the recipient of the Robert L. Whiting award for outstanding senior petroleum engineering student.
He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas and a member of the Fort Worth Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He also serves as a board member of several organizations including the Texas A&M University Petroleum Engineering Industry Board, TCU Energy Institute, Petroleum Club of Fort Worth, Longhorn Council, Boy Scouts of America Foundation and the Fort Worth Air Power Council. In addition, Greg is a member of several professional organizations including the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association, Texas Oil & Gas Association and the Fort Worth Wildcatters. He is also involved in other community and philanthropic efforts through the Gregory A. and Laura E. Bird Foundation.
