Ms. Darla-Jean Weatherford serves as Lecturer and course manager for distance learning courses for the department. Her information responsibilities include producing the department's newsletter, the Reservoir, and fielding and responding to questions about the department's history, events, and services. Her duties in distance learning include coordinating classes for transmission through web and video technologies, assisting in class development, and providing support services for distance students.

Ms. Weatherford taught technical writing and presentation in the department for 5 years and in the Master of Business Administration program and the Department of English for 3 years. She has 12 years' experience teaching secondary school English and journalism. Her master's thesis in document preparation for educational purposes gives her a unique background in technical writing and presentations research.

She has served as a freelance technical editor and presentations designer for Schlumberger and has published feature news articles in publications in Bryan and Houston. Her earlier experience in public information includes work with the Texas Alliance for Science, Technology, and Mathematics Education and the Texas A&M University Center for Mathematics and Science Education.
